It's the end of this particular chapter, but like the last line says, "It's not over." ;)
Thanks; the HTML coding for this entire piece was tricky (especially the right aligns). Of course, in the sequel/companion piece to this, I also have to code a list. \O/
And if the ending is nagging at you, I will say this: DI Greg Lestrade is one of my favorite characters, and ...I'm a happy endings kind of girl. :)
Haha. I wasn't sure how to interpret the last line, after reading "his dying boss". But yay for the ambiguity then, I can now tell myself the whole team gets a happy ending. :)
I, too, am relieved to know it's not the end of the story! I find this to be a riveting Lestrade character study - and a very even-handed treatment of Sally, too. :)
(You might consider putting a 'TBC' or 'to be continued' at the end of this section to spare future readers undue angst...?)

I suppose it wouldn't give anything away to say that Pritchard has a strong role in the companion piece/sequel, perhaps even the main role...
Thank you for the review! I know a bit too much about police procedure for comfortable dinner conversation, but it makes for great stories! =D

"All the King's Men" is a longer piece than this one, but I hope to make the wait oh so very worth it for my readers. That's my goal, anyway. :)
Thank you for the enthusiasm!

I don't usually write stories of quiet horror, but TRF encouraged me to stretch beyond my usual style and tone. I'm so happy you enjoyed.
