Ouch. Good, but certainly not comfortable reading!

Thank you for the comment =) Is that a good ouch or a bad ouch? ;)

(I'm going to have to make it up to Sally and Greg in my future stories...)

A good ouch - until you were excessively mean to my DI, but if you're going to make it up to him, I'll let you off. ;)

Should I run for my bolt hole now? I mean, I'll make it up to our favorite DI, eventually.

Just...maybe not in the sequel/companion piece that I'm working on now. *eyes the rest of my angsty bunnies*

Do you want to give me a prompt that might lead to happier, less owie bunnies? :)

Oh, is this really the end?
I hope they survived. :(

Nice touch on the change in formatting for waiting part btw.

It's the end of this particular chapter, but like the last line says, "It's not over." ;)

Thanks; the HTML coding for this entire piece was tricky (especially the right aligns). Of course, in the sequel/companion piece to this, I also have to code a list. \O/

And if the ending is nagging at you, I will say this: DI Greg Lestrade is one of my favorite characters, and ...I'm a happy endings kind of girl. :)

Haha. I wasn't sure how to interpret the last line, after reading "his dying boss". But yay for the ambiguity then, I can now tell myself the whole team gets a happy ending. :)

Will look forward to your companion piece.

I, too, am relieved to know it's not the end of the story! I find this to be a riveting Lestrade character study - and a very even-handed treatment of Sally, too. :)

(You might consider putting a 'TBC' or 'to be continued' at the end of this section to spare future readers undue angst...?)

*whistles innocently* Maybe. Maybe not. ;)

I suppose it wouldn't give anything away to say that Pritchard has a strong role in the companion piece/sequel, perhaps even the main role...

Thank you for the review! I know a bit too much about police procedure for comfortable dinner conversation, but it makes for great stories! =D

Rest assured, I will not be keeping you in suspense for too long. ;)

"All the King's Men" is a longer piece than this one, but I hope to make the wait oh so very worth it for my readers. That's my goal, anyway. :)

Thank you for the enthusiasm!

Thank you for the comment!

I don't usually write stories of quiet horror, but TRF encouraged me to stretch beyond my usual style and tone. I'm so happy you enjoyed.
