You wont need to neccesariy fill up on gas in Atlanta. It seems like it would end up costing you more going the long route anyways. 2 hours is like 140 miles.

i know we dont have to get gas in Atlanta. We also want to stop and stay over at a half way point and that would be about an hour south of Atlanta and I dont want to stop in GA. I hate GA!
