you're right it's not. and I agree with the osama/saddam, it's kinda like 1984. I dunno if you've read it, but there are three countries in the world, and we're constantly at war with one of them. Which one it is switches without any notice or reason, and the whole osama to saddam thing reminded me of it.
And about the apathy thing, here's an interesting (at least to me) thought I've had: despite severe threat of imminent attack by insurgents, the Iraqi elections had a turnout of about 72%. I'm not exactly sure what the American turnout is, but I do know that here in our safe first world country, the turnout is not nearly that high. Somethin' to think about
