Localization Differences

I've heard that there are slight differences between the North American version of Lightning Returns and the Japanese version. Apparently in the Japanese version there are greater hints of affection between Lightning and Hope. As someone who has recently beat the North American version I was wondering if someone who has played the Japanese version

Won't say I've played Lightning Returns, but as I've watched the english version on youtube (*coughs*)... I can immediately tell you I much preferred Japanese voice over while doing some comparisons here and there. Can't really confirm if any event in particular shows greater hints though, given that I barely know the basics of japanese

That's no good. I was hoping to find someone who experienced both versions. You should probably get the game though. There is an optional DLC where you can actually play the game with the Japanese voice actors.

I've played the english version and am currently closely analysing a japanese play through. I'll happily tell you the moments as I see them :) (If you so wish me to.)
Not entirely sure if this really is anything (I have a habit of looking too closely at things) But I found this when Lightning first goes to the arc:) :

Lightning; It's like a hole opened in my heart.

Hope: I understand, I feel the same. When I remember the events of long ago, I don't feel anything.

Lightning: Perhaps this is the work of god. Servants finishing god's work have no need for feelings, So they've been cut off.

Hope: If that's the case, I guess changing my body back to this form was also part of god's plan.

Is it just me or does that sound like Hope's saying he was turned back to his old body so that nothing would happen between them? ^.^

I'm playing the Japanese version and I'd like to share some moments I witnessed :D If you play Japanese version, you'll definitely feel like they're meant to be together. If Hope was not a kid in Lightning Returns, it would turn into another love story I think
