I was keeping an eye out for good boots but I couldn't see anything that looked better than my regular riding boots, which are at least suitably battered and fairly comfortable. Obviously a riding boot isn't 100% in keeping with the setting, but muddy leather boots maybe not so bad. I got some cowboy boots from these guys and they may have some useful kit type ones if you just look for things with less pointy toes.
Wear comfortable boots. I wear Magnums, they are amazingly comfortable. If you really want IC ones your best bet is to go for "yard boots" that horsey people have
The cowboy boots look pretty sweet, cheers Ben. Although do you happen to know if they have obvious zips which I am trying to avoid.
Also, on a more cheeky note - do the stables you go to ever chuck away boots? I have very strong feet and happy to bulk out with decent socks, so not too worried about them being used if they do, and can fit into anything from size 8 to 10.....
I will have a look at the magnums now as well, cheers doug

Magnums and para boots are very comfy and durable though.
