Blech. What an idiot. Giving comments to her is Not worth it. It is quite obvious how rediculous she is. Pretty much everyone I know have some kind of adoptive situation in their lives.
The argument about people having identity issues? For fuck's sake, We all go through that in some way or another!! I wanted to call my real Dad when I was 12 to 'find myself', but honestly, I would have looked elsewhere if he hadn't existed. People who have issues are no different than anyone else. It's kinda funny how that stupid bitch did not respond to ANYONE that displayed a positive adoption experience, and kept acting as if it didn't exist or wasn't real.
What a fucking idiot.
I am curious as to what Femme would have to say about it.
I find the whole thing weird. There is an "anti-adoption" movement because some of the people involved are unscrupulous? That's like having an "anti-charity" movement because sometimes fake charities are used to scam people.
I am sure that adopted children have identity issues to overcome. But those issues are probably, for the most part anyway, easier to handle than the issues they would have by remaining with parents who can't or won't take care of them properly.
And what is the deal with adoption *always* being based on a "lie"? Says who?
you know, until this thread, i didn't even realize there was a "adoption is morally wrong" faction. yuck. i find it extremely upsetting that there is a faction out there who believe that parents/children can't love each other enough unless they have blood ties. seems...elitist? somehow. disturbing, wow.
