You know how one thing leads to another. I somehow went from one of my nieces having a drama (how dare her single friends not have time for her when she's free for the night!) to Technicolor Two Color Process, to Mystery at the Wax Museum, to Shelley Winters, to Night of the Hunter. "Night of the Hunter" is so awesome, I'm glad you discovered it. Mitchum was the best at heavies. You might also like him in the original Cape Fear, with Gregory Peck and Telly Savalas (among others).

Crumb of trivia since you mentioned the horse, the scene where the rider is seen on the horizon, going from side-to-side? Was not actually Robert Mitchum: It was a midget on a Shetland pony. Srsly!

I've seen Cape Fear - was I glad it was a daytime showing!

That's funny about the midget and pony, but I read that the camera man was using all sorts of forced perspective and 'old Silent tricks' throughout. I guess it's only natural they'd want Gish on the project.
