My life is entirely too interesting. I sprained my knee quite badly and have been mostly nonmobile since the first of March. And now I go to Phys. Therapy 2x per week. . .

On Saturday we held a celebration of my mother's life. It was in Tucson at the home of one of her neighbours and I think about 60-75 people attended. We had beans, coffee and Mexican food that was catered and the oldest person there was 93, the youngest 2. It was definitely her sort of party, and my bro. Tom played his clarinet. Well, we've gone through the Ozarks, bought a new tire, bought a hand-made cedar chest, and got the truck serviced in Albuquerque. We stayed in an Army fam camp in Ft. Chaffee, Ark. for $7.50 per night. It was very nice and very comfortable. We also stayed at Petit Jean state park in Arkansaw, and I would highly recommend it. It was beautiful, ( Read more... )

We left Morgantown, W. Va. yesterday and got here in Tenn. last night. We are "doing" the Natchez Trace, and it is lovely. It's about 72 degrees F. and about 99% humidity I think. We saw where Meriwether Lewis was buried, and drove along about 40 miles of the Trace. It has really been fun. Tomorrow we probably go to Memphis and see Graceland.

We drove to Hershey, PA today, and stayed at one of the nicest 1000 trails parks ever: we wanted to stay for 2 days, but there is no room--they are booked up. Oh well. We will go to Morgantown on Friday and see Douglas and Janet for a couple of days, and then we shall head west to seek our fortunes. Don't know what we will do tomorrow. On and ( Read more... )

Today we "did" Boston. We saw old North Church, Paul Revere's house, the Old Meeting House, the USS Constitution and a bunch of other things. We bought Victor another tshirt, and, sadly, bought another coffee mug--we couldn't resist. We took the underground into Boston and took a tour of the area, then walked and did sightseeing. We drove along US1 in Maine most of the day and it was awfully pretty but very crowded. When it got to 3 o'clock, we found a campground at Hanscomb AFB in Mass. It's beautiful, and wooded, and has great wifi and is relatively cheap--$18 ( Read more... )

We went to Nova Scotia today and the day was sort of a bust, because most of what we really wanted to see was on Cape Breton, which is in the far east and 250 miles from here--too far for a one-day trip. We went to see Anne Murray's house in Spring Hill and then went to Halifax ( Read more... )
