so i just saw that howard the duck is scheduled to finally be released on dvd by universal home video in march.. which means there may still be hope for cool as ice.
I saw Howard the Duck in the theater when it first came out. Believe it or not - and maybe this is just my faded teenage memories talking - but I don't recall it being nearly as bad as everyone said. I mean, it was lame, but not necessarily "so bad it's good" lame.
i have to disagree, as cool as ice is one of my all-time favorite cheezy movies. i even have the full-size poster displayed prominently on my wall. i'm not really sure what it is about the movie that makes people dislike it so much.. because i honestly think it's better than the average romantic comedy. and the cinematography is actually great. perhaps it's simply a strong dislike of vanilla ice that makes it hard for people to just enjoy the movie for what it is.
on the other hand, i saw most of howard the duck when i was a kid, and i thought it was the dumbest movie ever made. however, i'm willing to give it another chance, as i may be able to appreciate it a bit more now.
I was gonna say, "your Christmas wish this year for sure." but somehow, I think cool as ice on DVD has been a repeatedly crushed Christmas wish going on for over a decade.
thanks for trying. unfortunately, any dvd of cool as ice that currently exists is a bootleg; trust me. (note that amazon and imdb have absolutely zero details about the supposed dvd.) i have been keeping tabs on it for years and even started a petition to get it on dvd (which obviously hasn't worked yet).

Cool as Ice, however, is painfully awful.
