I know I'm probably not the person you wanted to hear something from but I never got a chance to have an official goodbye with you or sign your yearbook. So, here it is.

Dear Dave: I spent about 5 years of my life being your best friend. We had some great times, between our endless inside jokes and nicknames, dancing together, and having identical class schedules senior year. All though we have drifted completely apart, I'm so happy for you and Brian, more than you'll ever know. I'm so glad you have a rock in your life and someone to care for and take care of you the way only he can.
Being friends with you has definitely shaped me to be the person I am today, and I can't thank you enough. You were my shoulder to cry on, my hand to hold, and my reality check when I got out of line. No matter what happens in our future, I hope you always remember me, because I know i'll never forget you.

I miss you so much. I think of you all the time. I have sat down and written numerous letters to you, but they never got sent. Maybe because the miscommunication was so strong between us I was afraid that you would never forgive me.
