Tutrle poo...

Yeah, so Whitney & Jordan are helping with the shed. They have put in a zillion hours and are rocking! SO fucking frustrating too, that damn thing. Then the tortoise, Juji ("heap of love" in Swahili), insists upon pooping in the shed as we are building it. Then she knocks over, YES KNOCKS OVER my gas grill. That think is heavy, but nothing ( Read more... )

the thing is, if youre weight is stable with your normal amount of eating and exercise, then a little extra exercise will slowly take the weight off without sacrificing the eating. then, when you get to your goal, you can stabilize there, starting a new workout routing every few months if need. thats my goal (and im now 45 pounds into it. that is my official halfway point. i just realized that. damn that feels good.

Good for you! Well, one of my 'big' issues is not eating enough and then eating a big meal. So, I am trying to actually eat differently and of course it's way tempting to eat yummy crap than prep for one person on the go... This is where a relationship actually makes it so much easier for me to take better care of myself. As far as regular excersize, it's been a while. Although I DO enjoy it a lot, it's just getting there and it's easy to get out of the practice via work, breaking up, depression, etc. But I take happy pills which has helped me do a lot of positive things, plus now I have a cpap machine...I suffer from sleep apnea and this was and still is somewhat making me exhausted. I guess the other issue there being that you can't burn fat without enough oxygen. A Dr. told me that. He said he thought I would automatically lose weight (ha ha) from just using the machine. We will see. I just like being comfortable and I am getting closer, but still a little ways from there.

also, yoga is a simpler exercise routine thats easier to fit into a schedule, that DOES increase your basal metabolism. also, i tend to cook LARGE amounts of food, and then portion everything out in single servings in plastic baggies, and toss them into the freezer. quick food, i know is tasty, and premeasured as a healthy amount.

and not just a relationship, but a support group. im on a website called fark, and a bunch of us got an email list going where we talk about our routine for the week, how well we did, email people that dont talk reminding them to do their exercises, ect.
/of course, relationships are best for engaging in the oldest and best physical workout on a regular basis too ;P

and, if you do it RIGHT, theres nothing wrong with snacking constantly throughout the day. its honestly how the hunter gatherer in us is made to work.

ohh, one final thing. i invested in a scale that measures your fat content with electricity. that way, if youve gained water weight (and i tend to hold water like a camel) the percentages change, and you know. you can multiply things out, and keep track of your actual fat weight. helps the psychology.
