Damnit. My tortoise, Juji, has a scute (patterned things her shell is made up of) that has cracked and is flaking off! I think her shell was getting too hot with the warmer weather under the heat lamp outback. I feel lame for not realizing that. Diana would have. I hope it will be ok and grow back

Juji will be ok. as long as it's not cracking deep and bleeding, she is fine. if it does crack deep and bleed, scrub the area with betadine. she wouldn't be under the lamp if she didn't need to be.
