I'm Penny--forget what all of the official enrollment papers say and let's get off on equal footing--and I'm so excited to be teaching two sections of an introductory level art class at TCU!  This is my second year teaching ( Read more... )

Hi love

I were just wondering...are you free today or do you have that charity thing again? Not that thats not important, I mean, its really fab that you do all that stuff but well I mean, haven't seen you at all for maybe 4 days? You have to eat at some point right? Not lunch obviously cos thats your office hours but dinner maybe? Just let me know I guess.

Dinner sounds like a good idea? Sorry for all of the crazy and the not being around. Class starting crazy times. Do you have anything in mind? What time do you get off work? I can be ready when you are.

Saw the campus security bulletin, btw. Ray's not looking forward to the semester, huh?

I'll see you soon, I hope!

I can take shifts off so could do 6 maybe or later, whatever works. I were thinking of this indian place off campus. Does loads of veggie dishes and its not cafeteria food so I reckon its a nice change.

He never is. Don't trust kids at all him. (ffff, kids, Chris, they are ALL BASICALLY YOUR AGE.) Dunno. I think lots of them are dead nice.

Anyway, yeah, I hope so!

That sounds great to me. Anything that's not cafeteria food!

Poor Ray. He'll make it through the semester, though... I think the students're nice, too. The ones I've met, at least. Maybe the ones that cause trouble don't take art?

See you around six! :D

Does this class fulfill the Gen-Ed Arts requirement? I mean, I think I might take it anyway, but I've run into some difficulties with my schedule.

It does! What kind of schedule problems are you having? Maybe I can help you out, or at least point you in the general direction of someone helpful.

Do you like art?

Oh, it's just that my schedule's too full. I think I'm going to drop Ethics, though, since philosophy is one of the few things I don't think I'm going to major in. I mean, I like to argue, but I need something more...tangible? Practical?

Well, really I like theater but I don't want to take a class in it since I'll probably try to join an improv group or something. Anyway, I wanted to try something new.

Hey, take it slow, okay? Try to major in everything and you'll burn yourself out.

Thanks, Gabe. I'm sure it'll be great.

How's your semester starting out? Dropping by any interesting classes?

It's been good, so far. You know me, I'm always glad when we get out of orientation week. And I am- actually, I'm auditing a few classes. I'm hoping to get around to everything on campus someday.

That's awesome! Working here has some perks, doesn't it?

You'll have to be here a while to get to everything. Plus, I've heard some... interesting things about a few professors through the grapevine.

Looks like I was late to the staff meeting, did I miss anything?

There was a staff meeting?

...Okay. That would explain the vaguely-threatening e-mail from the Fine Arts dean.

Aye, I imagine that they aren't too pleased with me either. Though I was finishing up my dissertation.
