[The video is focused on a small pile of paper fortunes. Some are visible: "Things aren't always as they seem." "Your life will take a new turn." "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer." Penny doesn't bother turning the camera towards her.]I usually really like fortune cookies. Sure, they don't always taste great, but they're fun ( Read more... )

"You will hate the 80's."

Everything about the eighties? Because the arcade games were fun.

I loved fortune cookies as a kid...but they always got really boring and really eerily accurate. So I don't really like them that much anymore.

...hey, you okay? I wonder what they mean...

Were they magic fortune cookies?

Just kind of worried about some things... it'll be fine. I think most of the fortunes're vague so it'll seem like they came true.

Nah, just regular fortune cookies...magic cookies would've rocked, though.

...If you don't mind me asking, what've they got you worried about?

But they were accurate anyway? That's freaky. Things like that aren't supposed to happen outside of alternate dimensions controlled by crazy deities.

Some things went down with a friend. It would've happened with or without the fortunes, I guess, but it all seemed connected in a creepy way.

Those are some pretty cliche fortunes...

Kind of a rip off, right?

Did you get any?

hatedbyfanboys September 17 2010, 05:36:30 UTC
Yeah.

Stupid ones like "watch your step," which I would have been if I wasn't reading the stupid fortune.

Look on the bright side--it warned you, didn't it?

I think I got cheated out of my fortune.

What? I don't think it counts as being cheated when the fortunes're cursed.

It told me to be careful of what I eat, so obviously I was. It wasn't like I was going to overeat those cookies anyways...

Do you hate them, too? Fortune cookies? It's crazy how many people here don't like them. And not just the cursed kind that come from the sky, either.

[There's a scrap of paper stuck in the door of the Welcome Center. It's dirty and kind of crumpled, and some of the letters are written in Cyrillic by accident, but on it is written,]

Penny. Sorry. Angry. Can't think. Forgive me.]

[Penny notices the paper when she's leaving. It has to be from Sorrow. She removes it from the door and looks around, hoping Sorrow's still lurking.]

[Unfortunately -- or maybe fortunately -- there's no one around.]

[In spite of her Very Serious conversation with Chris, Penny's disappointed. She puts the note in her pocket and starts off towards home, wondering whether or not she should tell Chris about it.]
