Hey, Penny... Do you ever talk to a guy named Hanna?

Yeah, I do. He's really nice.

Is something up?

I don't know why not! I'll make a cake. Maybe bring some balloons. What kind of cake, do you think?

... I'm only coming for the food, not the purpose of the holiday.

Aw, isn't there anything you're thankful for? And aren't you coming for the company, too?

It's still an American holiday. And why should I be thankful only one day out of the year?

I'll celebrate Russian holidays with you! And you should be thankful every day. Just think of it as Thankfulness Awareness Day.

You Americans are quite serious about this holiday, I see. I do like the spirit of it.

There is no late in RP! horrible_penny November 20 2010, 17:31:27 UTC
I don't think it's such a big deal at home. Something about being in the City makes me want to hold on to silly traditions, though... if that makes sense.

Does that mean you might come, Eriol?

I hope so |D reed4context November 20 2010, 20:03:08 UTC
You like what's familiar. I think that makes sense.

I'd be glad to. I've no family here either, after all.

All the more reason for you to come! We can all be family.

Is there anything special you'd like to see there in the way of food?

I'll be at your party. I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Penny -- don't give up. Not yet. The City is cruel, and life is cruel, but we individuals aren't meant to be alone. Love is part of that. And the fact that Chris cared for you, and Billy, shows that you are attractive, both in body and mind, and that if you don't find love, love will find you.

You don't need a man to tell you what to do. You have persevered through so much, and that is your own strength that carries you. But wanting a man in your company, someone who cares about you and wants to help you -- that isn't a desire to be weak. That is a desire to be loved, and it is human, and there is no shame in it.

You're a beautiful woman, Penny, and you have a kind soul -- a strong one also. Don't give up so soon, even if you must take time to rest.

That's one of the nicest things I've ever read, I think. Thanks, Sorrow. And they might still come back. I mean, Chris left before and he came back, so there's hope there.

It'll be great to see you there, you know. I've really missed you.

I've missed you also...it was terrible, not being able to see you when I was so close by. But make no mistake -- I'll be there no matter what happens.

Humans do a terrible job of repressing their emotions with argument.

There is far too much record in human history of you creatures swearing off your basic drives. Eat less. Don't engage in romance. So forth.

None of it ever works. Sex, companionship, and food are basic human drives. You won't evade them in that fleshy shell.

There are ways around that, however...
