Character Name: Kurai Hiku (aka Horrid)
Fandom OC?: Yes; Slayers TRY (OMFG, how did I even forget about Horrid?!)
Background:
During the Kouma War, the golden ryuzoku asked the ancient ryuzoku for their help. However, being a peaceful race and wanting no part in the war, the ancients declined. They would stay neutral. However, this didn't go over well with the goldens. They knew how powerful the ancients were and became enraged that they wouldn't use their strength to fight. More-over, they were afraid. So scared, they jumped to the conclusion that if the ancients didn't help them, there'd be a possibility that sometime in the future, the ancients may turn on them.
What scared the golden ryuzoku the most was the fact that they may lose their place as the most powerful of the ryuzoku. They knew that the ancients held the most powerful weapon -- Galveria the Bow -- and they wanted it for themselves to ensure their place at the top of the food chain. Their solution for this fear? Genocide. Orders were given to the goldens to slaughter the entire race of ancient ryuzoku. Every last one of them -- men, women, children, eggs -- were to die. All because the goldens were too selfish and power-hungry.
This act of pure selfishness, to Hiku, was no better than what the mazoku would do -- if they can't have it their way, kill whatever is stopping them. Hiku finds it utterly disgusting that the golden ryuzoku took it into their own hands to play god and take the lives of so many innocents. It's the fault of the goldens that Hiku's life was ruined, that her friends and family were senselessly murdered. She can't forgive them for their sins.
What's worse is that the goldens tried to make it so that the ancient ryuzoku were the bad guys. Not only was it bad enough that they killed them but trying to shirk the blame is just too much for Hiku.
Personality:
Hiku loathes the golden ryuzoku. Hiku's hatred stems the incident that caused the ryuzoku to destroy her entire race (or so she thought).
There is a somberness about Hiku that seems greatly inappropriate and far beyond her age. She holds within herself such pent up rage and sorrow, that she often sinks into a near suicidal depression, snapping just as quickly over into an unforgiving rage. The fear that many show her due to her heritage and magical prowess adds to her emotional train-wreck.
Close to few in the world, she is thought to be quite hard and uncaring, but in reality, is a bundle of emotions.
Appearance:
Homid: Hiku is a trim and muscular girl of what appears to be 18 years of age. Hard golden eyes seem to watch the world with a sullen lack of caring. Her black hair hangs to her shoulders in a shaggy cut that becomes this comely young woman and she is always pushing her light blue bangs from her eyes.
Hiku wears once of two outfits, depending on her whereabouts. One, an over sized magenta tunic hangs to her mid thigh, corded off with a loop of rope at the waist. From this outfit, an ornate dagger hangs at her hip, attached to the rope belt. Her second outfit is more to her liking and more frequents her person. A black tube top and matching pair of low riding hip-huggers. The material of the pants hangs loosely around her calves, belling out slightly with its flowy material. She is quite proud of her body and has no problems flashing her bare midriff.
Her wings are always visible, if not kept under a cloak.

Wing span: 100' (approx)
Abilities:
As a ryuzoku, she is able to transform into her dragon form (although not without pain) and use powers that ryuzoku can use. These powers include lightning breath and acidic bile. She can cast spells as a dragon, but generally will not. If she's in dragon form, she's far more interested in personally inflicting damage with her own teeth and claws.
She is also skilled sorceress, her talents focusing specifically upon dark magic. She has no qualms about calling on such to kill or maim. She has no talent whatsoever with light magic (Cephied would laugh in her face, wot) and so cannot heal in any manner.
General (meaning there are other generics, but these are the biggies)spell listing:
(Incantations can be spoken aloud or simply thought. Hiku pulls her powers from Darkness, so she tends to draw from the Dark Lords or the Lord of Nightmares when casting.)
Fireball: A ball of fire appears between the hands of the caster which can then be thrown. Upon contact with an object, the ball explodes, spreading flames. Caution is necessary when using this spell in enclosed area or forests because this spell affects a wide area. This is the most popular offensive spell. Hiku uses variations
of this spell, making the ball of fire explode on the word "Break."
~Incantation~ "Oh, source of all power, light which burns beyond crimson, let thy power gather in my hand. FIREBALL!"
Dragon Slave: Spell which calls on the power of Ruby-Eye Shabranigdu, leader of the dark forces in the Slayers world. This is the strongest spell that humans can cast without a talisman of some kind; its effect is broad and destructive enough to level a city. The name was originally "Dragon Slayer" but as the legend was passed through the years, it became garbled into its current form, "Dragu-Slave."
~Incantation~ "Darkness from twilight, crimson from blood that flows; buried in the flow of time; in Thy great name, I pledge myself to darkness! Those who oppose us shall be destroyed by the power you and I possess! DRAGU SLAVE!!"
Ferrous Bleed: This spell is an enhanced version of Flow Break, and can be used to break more elaborate illusions or curses.
~Incantation~ "Star which pass through heavens' night skies, heed the ancient coven and the Earth, I pledge my life that he may be called forth! FERROUS BLEED!"
Laguna Blade (aka Ragna Blade): This spell, an original creation of Lina Inverse, calls on the power of the Lord of Nightmares (Golden Demon Lord), which is much more powerful than Ruby-Eye Shabranigdu. Darkness is formed between the caster's hands, which is then shaped into the form of a blade or trowel shape. Since the spell drains a tremendous amount of magic power, the spell can only be cast when the caster is in dire need, and only then for a brief moment. After learning about the true nature of the Lord of Nightmares from the Clair-Bible, more power can be utilized, at the consequence of a shorter spell duration. Hiku's strongest spell.
~Incantation~ "Lord of the Darkness and Four Worlds, I beseech thy fragments; by all of the power thou possesseth, grant the heavens' wrath to my hand; unleash the sword of dark, freezing nothingness; by our power, our combined might, let us walk as one along the path of destruction: LAGUNA BLADE!"
Bram Gush: The spell creates an arrow of wind, which is shot at a target and bursts upon contact (or at the caster's choosing), shredding the target to pieces. An extremely lethal spell which has the power to blow a hole through a brick wall.
~Incantation~ "Wind which blows across eternity, gather in my hands and become my strength! BRAM GUSH!"
Burst Flare: A ball of light appears in the targeted area, and in the next instant the ball bursts, raising a tongue of blue white flame. The flames can melt even a golem with ease. Against a human, not even the bones will remain. This is the strongest fire magic a normal human can cast.
~Incantation~ "Source of all power, crimson fire buring bright! Gather together in my hand and become an inferno... BURST FLARE!"
Digu Volt: A lethal spell which shoots out a blast of lightning from the palm of the extended arm. This spell is a stronger version of Mono Volt, and a direct hit by this spell most likely means death. There is also a small chance that targets struck with this spell will catch on fire.
~Incantation~ "Wind, crimson flame. Grant the power of thunder to my hand! DIGU VOLT!"
Dug Haut: A powerful and effective spell in which numerous large stone spears rush out of the ground. This is done by gathering magical energy in a hand and slamming that hand against the ground, which causes the layers underneath the ground to shift. Since this spell also causes a small earthquake, any target whose feet are on the ground will have a hard time dodging this spell.
~Incantation~ "Earth below me, submit to my will! DUG HAUT!"
Sample:
The dragoness arches her neck and screams fury at the golden shapes darting above her. Her fury ending abruptly as a lance flashes past her, slicing through the membrane of her outstretched wing.
She had been ordered to stay below ground where it was safer for the young, but the same brashness of youth bid her leave of her enclosure and the other children nestled there. Her brother was already above ground, and she surely would not remain still with him above. She knew the others would follow suit soon as well; none could merely sit aside as their race was executed!
Her injured wing spasms and clamps instinctively to her side and she dips madly in the air, diving toward the ground. A magic beam shoots past, just barely missing her diving form, and she turns her head to follow its course. Gold eyes widen as she sights the dragons in its path, and she bellows a terrified scream.
She continues to fall, watching in horror as the beam cuts through dragon after dragon, Gold and Ancient alike. She watches the children rise to meet their foe, only to be shot from the air mere yards from the ground. A flash of color that stands out amongst the gold, and she believes she's caught sight of the red mane of her brother before she slams unceremoniously into the ground.
Unable to do anything to slow her descent, she hits the ground at full speed. She barrels over her own body, nearly breaking her neck, but cannot hope for luck eternal. Pain sears through her body as rocks and dirt dig into her body, already abused wings suffering any number of small breaks. One foreleg snaps, breaking cleanly through as the startling pain draws an agonized scream from the young dragon. She begins dragging herself instantly, terrified to remain in one position for too long. A short distance away lies the body of a clan mate, crumpled and still. Hiku's form blurs and shifts until it is no longer a dragoness, but a young human-like girl moving with agonizing slowness over the earth, broken arm clutched to her chest as she stumbles to regain her feet.
She stops at the side of one youngling, a sob wracking her body as she finds her already dead. Her injured wings hang uselessly behind her and she cannot focus enough to summon any spell, whether of darkness to hurt, or of Cephied to heal. Absently, a voice in the back of her mind taunts such a notion. She used dark magic and was unable to use the healing powers of Sailune..she would be helpless to aide her fallen family.
Her gaze darkens as it rises from the body of the fallen to the sky above, searching for the source of the magical beams; silently praying to catch a glimpse of her brother to no avail. She locates the source of the destruction almost instantaneously, his cape shifting in the night air. Hiku does not recognize the figure, but one thing is clear as she gazes upon his form. He was terrifying, power radiating about his person unlike anything she had encountered before in her lifespan.
She does the best thing she can possibly do and the only thing that will see her out of this encounter alive, though she hates herself for it. Sobbing a hasty prayer, she turns and begins to move off as quickly as her beaten form can manage, the sound of his laughter following her into the darkness.
