Fell down a rabbit hole... May stay here a while...

I have discovered the most delicious, addictive, story-telling crack I've experienced in... ever? What the hell, I'm still deep in the throws of passionate love so I'll embrace the hyperbole... BEST. STUFF. EVAH!! :D

I should start at the beginning. I don't remember who turned me onto Tiger and Bunny, (flist? fandom-secrets?), but that's where ( Read more... )

Do you know Fullmetal Alchemist? It's Japanese, not Korean, but anyway it's one of the most complex and epic stories I've read, I can't recommend it highly enough.

Late reply is... ungodly late. (I seriously lost track of LJ for a long while there -- catching up should be fun!) But I've heard about "Fullmetal Alchemist" and it's definitely on the list. Especially since my husband has been fighting my k-drama addiction with anime. ;)

In case you're curious, here's a post with 10 reasons to read Fullmetal Alchemist which says it so much better than I can! And I agree with every word she says!

Intriguing! :) I've forwarded that link to my husband, so it could well be in our future - especially since she said the more current anime is almost as good as the manga. (Not surprising that it misses some of the subtlety, of course. That's the general way of film.)

Sungkyunkwan Scandal wound up nursing me through a really bad cold/light case of flu. As much fun as the story & characters were, I found myself really fascinated at all the day-to-day mundanities and things like furniture and hats. All in all, a very pleasant way to spend being sick. :P

So thanks for the recommendation!

Oh, I'm glad you liked it! (And I'm glad you're feeling better, too. ) The Josen-era stuff is fascinating, I agree. Apparently it's pretty much its own genre in K-dramas, but SKKS broke new ground by introducing a more modern story-telling flare. (And let me tell you -- that hat scene? Never has removing a hat been filled with such... meaning. *g*)

Also, thanks for letting me know. I've been thinking of doing another k-drama post and this pushes me more further down the "do it!" road. :D
