air date: 10.22.2012 through 12.13.2012
number of eps: 16 (or 32 depending on how you're counting)*
I watched it: live

In a nutshell: This was a funny little drama combining a tongue-in-cheek look at world of K-pop with the "forced cohabitation" storyline k-dramas love. It's very (very) loosely related to the ( Read more... )

No Min Woo is pretty new to acting so he's kinda wet behind the ears still. :) My Girlfriend is a Gumiho was his 1st bigger supporting role. He seems to be getting better by each project though. Have you watched 'Rock, Rock, Rock'? That's the one where I came across NMW and he's pretty good as the iconic Korean rocker Kim Tae Won (not that the real Tae Won is anywhere near as pretty, heh), leader of Boohwal. RRR is one of those longer Drama Specials with 4 epis and had me listening to Boohwal songs on a loop for weeks. LOL!

Oh, and Hi! I came across your LJ recently when I was bored and started scrolling through the 'kdrama' tag @LJ. I've enjoyed reading through your reviews. Wish my ramblings on dramas I've watched were half as intelligent, when I actually manage to write something and not just compose posts in my head.

Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying them. :)

I did not realize My Girlfriend is a Gumiho was his first big role! That explains so much! I've heard a little about Rock, Rock, Rock (it's on my to-watch list -- and just got bumped up a bit *g*) but for some reason I thought that came first. I had heard good things about No Min Woo in that one. And I think he was praised for his work in Midas as well? (Though I got the vibe that his story was sad in that one, so I'm not eager to tackle it.) Very cool that he's improving so steadily.

I liked RRR because of the story. That was sorta epic. KTW had a pretty rough life and it's a kind of a miracle the dude is still alive. Them rockers.... I read somewhere that they picked NMW for the role because of his guitarplaying skills. Gah, now I feel like I should re-watch.

I didn't watch Midas so no personal opinion of his acting there. He played a terminally ill guy so yeah, I'd say it was a sad part.

Okay you got me hooked. :) I started RRR during lunch and NMW is amazing! Now I'm all bouncy for his next project, whatever that will be. :D

Yup, that's sounds sad!
