Two movies I've liked this month are Bad Milo and Twixt (both are streaming on Netflix US). Bad Milo was funnier than I thought it would be, and silly gross. Twixt was a bit slow moving, but I loved the old-fashioned dream like quality to it and thought it original.
I'm trying to do a mix of old favorites and new stuff and it seems to be working well so far. I've encountered only a few stinkers: Shallow Ground (interesting premise, executed horribly) and The Barrens (which includes Stephen Moyer chewing scenes as bad as the last season of True Blood. And that's the high point of the movie).
Good new stuff has been Grave Encounters 1 & 2 (yeah I know, behind the times), Insidious 1 & 2 (what can I say? My Netflix to watch list is huuuuge) and the Carrie remake, which wasn't as horrible as I was led to believe. It wasn't great mind you, but it was passable.
I'm behind by about 5 or so movies because I spent most of my weekend hanging with my kids and marathoning some tv shows. Just upgraded my phone and I'm hoping I can sneak in some more mobile time this week while they're watching their stuff.
For those who want to relive 90s nostalgia, every ep of Are You Afraid Of The Dark hit Youtube. Leave it to reddit to come up with a web based auto player.
