Jesus, you make it sound like your getting brain surgery

I had exactly the same thing happen to me early this year.
I paid $1800 our of my travel fund (gah!) to get impacted wisdom teeth removed or it was going to crush my teeth.
The nerve you speak of ended up being severed so I get pins n needles on the right side of my tongue.
I still haven't got the taste back from that side.
Good luck!
After all that said, it's not as bad as you think haha

Seriously, oral surgery is nothing to worry about. When I got my wisdom teeth out, it was great.

You show up, they put an IV in you (and I hate needles), and then they gas you while you count backwards.

Next thing you know, you are in the recovery room. They give you some pain meds, and you go home and eat pudding for a day or two, and you're good as new (aside from having some teeth holes or stitches that go away on their own).

If anything, you'll drop a few pounds from eating nothing but pudding and soup for a while ;)

Don't fret it, it's nothing to get worried about, the whole process is over in a matter of an hour or two, and you're home in bed sleeping off the anesthesia.

*cries*... But it looks so horrible, the process I mean...
Do they give you enough pain meds? I still don't understand how they cut you up so carefull in that mouth of yours :S... blah

Well, I'm not entirely sure how they manage to get in your mouth and do what they do, but as far as I'm concerned, the less I know about it, the better.

Depending on your doctor you'll either get vicodin or tylenol 3. I'd guess that based on your impaction you'd get vicodin provided opiates don't make you sick. If that is the case, you realllly don't have anything to worry about as vicodin makes everything better :)

If you get the tylenol 3, it's basically just mega aspirin, but it does a pretty good job. There is a dull ache for a day or two afterwards, but there isn't really much pain unless you get dry sockets (which you probably won't).

Shit! Good luck with the oral surgery dear. Wisdom teeth are fuckers. I'm going to have mine out soon too because my bite is too small. We'll both end up looking like Ridge from Bold and the Beautiful (lol.)

Which agency was it by the way?
