So Does Michael Moorcock’s Writing get any Better?

I started reading the collected Cornelius Quartet by Michael Moorcock. According to the back cover, and Wikipedia, the character seems to have had plenty of influence on subsequent writers. And I can’t walk around the internet without stepping on someone that raves about Moorcock’s writing.

I've always thought of Moorcock as more of an "ideas" writer than a stylist.

That could explain the poor quality of writing. But I don't see any grand ideas either.

Maybe I need to get more into it. I'm not stopping what I'm reading right now, but if it doesn't get better, even in terms of ideas, I'm done.
