Today at work we had a child chip a tooth.
He was pushing a car around the room & then tripped on the rug. At first I didn't see anything under the rug. I took a second look b/c I was like why would there be a small bump in the rug. Then that time I saw a small toy under the rug. Once the child was calmed down another teacher was going to read him a story. Then the child started spiting out bits of his tooth. We got a zip lock bag to put the pices in & paged his parents. Before we paged the parents we asked him which tooth it was. He pointed to one of the back teeth. When his mom came & was trying to show the other children where it was, I was looking over them & saw which one it was. The parents weren't upset at all they where glad we did page them. They thought it was weird that the pager was going off b/c we never have to page them. It really didn't affect the child at all, just a little bit of crying when he tripped. We all were surpised that it was one of his back teeth. All In all everything will work out alright for the child.
