What I really don't understand is why more folks don't use custom filters on their friends lists instead of cutting. If you want to cut, go ahead, cut--but sometimes it seems folks just want a manageable quantity of stuff to show up on their friends page, and that's easily done with the filter. I don't really do that with individuals, but I keep all my communities out of my standard f-list display so I can just check in on them once in a while with a separate bookmark.
Yeah, that's true--when I've been away, like this past week, I always filter out communities to catch up. I guess that really helps cut down on flist clog... I like scrolling past the pictures photographers posts, for example, but it's a good idea.
