OK, I've noticed that posting in this comm is somewhat sporadic, so I'm going to ask y'all what else you want to see in here. Do you want "judging competitions", in which photos are posted of three or four different horses, and each person gives a placing and a set of reasons? (Comments would be screened for a set period of time, then unscreened ( Read more... )

I like all those ideas. xD

I don't really have any ideas now, but if I come up with any, I'll be sure to tell you. ^^
I like the idea of there being articles on conformation.

'Judging Conformation for Dummies'
it could be like a series of articles or whatnot, each one explaining how to judge a horse's conformation, and pointing out how each part of the horse should (ideally) be, or something.

I know I don't really have much of a clue on how to judge a horse's conformation. I know some stuff, but not much, so something like that would be helpful to myself and others who would like to learn how to judge a horse's conformation
or something.

I agree. I think those ideas sound good...judging pictures of different horses would be interesting, as well as learning about how different breeds are presented in hand and what the expectations are for specific classes/ breeds. Even things as broad as how hunter under saddle classes are judged or the judging system for reining. I don't know if that would be super-related, but it would be interesting and good for assessing whether or not a horse would be good for a specific dicilpine!

Sounds neat.

I'm good with (as you know) the baroque breeds especially, and dressage. Other than that, I have a good general knowledge of most other breeds in reference to how conformation affects movement and soundness. Would be more than willing to participate in a judging activity on the community.
