You are right; it's hard to evaluate a young horse! This guy does look pretty well-balanced for his age.
Only thing that stands out as an area of concern are his legs... In one photo his entire hind legs look really straight, and in all of them he's pretty upright in the rear pasterns. You obviously already caught the club foot...
Thanks! I'm really happy with him, but it is definitely going to be interesting to see how he grows up. I did notice how straight he looks in that one shot. He's not very photogenic, and he likes to be next to you, so it's very difficult to get a good picture if nobody is holding him! My farrier mentioned something about how shitty his feet were, so I don't know if that's affecting how upright he looks. He is slightly upright, but I feel like the pictures make it look much more sever than it actually is. I'll post again in a couple months, so we will see!
Hahaha, oh Feronia. She's like, "No human, come back! Why are you walking away? Don't you want my kisses?" My old guy does the same thing, until you yell at him. Then he goes and pouts, and ends up looking like a donkey. Sigh, horses.
I'm gonna see if I can set him up properly for the next set. His breeder has also requested that I keep her updated, so he needs to look somewhat presentable! This winter is all about growing though, so hopefully he'll fill out and look like a real horse by next picture time.
Yeah.... here's to hoping it's a growth spurt. I swear he doesn't look that upright in person, but he probably does. I'll post more pictures as he grows!
