Well, financial aid got denied because my parents are still claiming me as a dependent on thier taxes. I've registered for 11 credit hours next semester, but I still am just hoping that I can even pay for that much. Tuition is $1,210. It's low, but I still don't know how I'm going to pay for it. I know that I need to stay in school, or I'll never ( Read more... )

wow, how come it always seems like we are always going through the same situations at about the same time?!!!seriously... you just described my same situation!! although minus the part about the tuition... that was last semester for me. only i had to drop out cuz it came down to my not having the money at all. and it was too late to apply for any other loans since i was turned down for financial aid. although my parents dont claim me and havent now for almost two years, and yet they say that my EFC is still too high. so i get nothing..perfect... and yet i am having or rather WAS having the same problem with tithing. but now i have my fiance who keeps me on track.

Yeah, hehehe, it's hard huh? My fiancee is having some of the same issues with tithing that I am because he's having a really ahrd time making ends meet after moving out, and suddenly his money is gone... and I'm freaking out over finals... and work is stressfull... and *BOOM!!* that was my brain popping a great big bubble of gas or something...

I am sorry you are in a tricky situation. That just stinks all around. Do not worry so much about the price of presents. A present of time and thought can be four times as valuable. Like a Christmas letter.
A fun idea for affordable presents are little "hot chocolate bags." What you do is melt some milk chocolate (I usually use milk chocolate chips) and then dip clear plastic spoons in it. While it is still wet, roll the top of the stick in crushed pepperment. Then stick a little sandwhich bag over the top and tie it off with a curly ribbon. You can also include a little bag of hot chocolate mix to use the peppermint stirring spoon with.
