Game infoInformation about Kana Personality:
Kana is an easygoing and laid back kind of guy. He’s a hard worker in his shop, yes, but he’s not the kind of person who will hold grudges or get mad easily. He loves having a good time, as evident from the fact that he attends or participates in every festival, whether it’s catching fish or building a snow sculpture. Life in a small town (read: 15 people) suits him just fine. It’s simple, and he’s good at finding things to do with his time (especially since there’s not a television in sight!).
He has an intense love for animals, especially horses. He’s practically obsessed with the latter, going so far as to talk about them when he’s approached most of the time. He has a strong bond with his favorite horse, Hayate, and is very sensitive to her needs as well as the needs of the rest of his pets. He can’t stand when animals (especially horses) are just used for work and aren’t truly appreciated as part of the family.
Still, being a young and athletic man, he tends to get carried away at times. At one point, he had so much alcohol that he decided to ride off into the sunset and never come back (fortunately, one of his friends stopped him). He’s not the kind of person who lets people get hurt, either, even if it means hurtling himself into the river to save a cat (or rather the first man who tried to save the cat as well as the cat). Sometimes, he works so hard he ends up working throughout the night without even realizing it. He also has a tendency to overeat at festivals.
With his laid back and calm attitude, though, he still gets nervous. He can become tongue-tied at times, especially when it involves someone he likes. He’s really easy to befriend, though. When it comes to relationships, he believes that spending time together and making someone happy is the best way to go. He’s just an oblivious blockhead, and it takes him a while when he has feelings for someone to admit it. He’s so oblivious that at times, he tends to ramble without thinking about the other person, though that, as well as his desire to help people, applies to everyone he’s friends with, regardless of attraction.
He has only the slightest self-esteem issue, and he thinks that he can be too boring sometimes. He hopes that people don't mind, though. He can't stand awkward silences, and sometimes he counts on other people to reassure him about something when something's bothering him. He just needs that push in the right direction sometimes!
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Good business skills! Kana successfully runs his own shop and manages animals for a living.
+Hard working! He's a rancher. He gets up at dawn, sleeps at midnight, and gets back up to do it all over again.
+A horse rider! He's good with animals, especially horses, and this ranges from general taking care of them and handling them to actively using them, such as for rides.
+Big damn hero! There's a cat in the river? Someone jumped in to save him? Well, Kana will jump in to save that person, since he's badass enough to do it.
+Completely devoted. If he loves, he loves you. He's not a bad guy to be in a relationship with.
+/- Horses: He knows everything about horses. It can be boring sometimes, especially when he says things like “When I see a horse that feels good, I feel good, you know?"
+/- Talks like a surfer: Woah. It can be, like, totally annoying, yeah? Hopefully, no one punches him, bro. You gotta keep that all in mind.
-Wild and reckless: He admits it himself; one time, he even decided to hop on his horse and ride off into the sunset. Luckily, someone went after him.
-Oblivious/tongue-tied: It takes a while for him to admit that he likes someone, and he can be bad at noticing small things...like how often he's talking about horses or that he's said something redundant.
-Farm boy: He has no television. There’s no car in his village. Guess who’s going to stick out like a sore thumb and act like a tourist?
-A bad case of nerves: He’s laid back most of the time, but when he’s with people he doesn’t know well or that he wants something from, he becomes nervous. At least he’s easy to make friends with, though!

First Person Sample:
So there’s this National Park, yeah? I hear they have all sorts of bug-catching contests there. It kinda reminds me of Critter Day back home in Konohana.
It sounds awesome! I bet I can catch the biggest bug. It should be no problem for Tauros and I, yeah? I’m totally stoked!
I hope there’s some good competition. You guys should, like, come out and check it out with me. It should be a lot of fun.
Third Person Sample:
“Woah, woah! Calm down, Zephyr.”
Kana sighed, stepping back from his agitated Tauros bucked and thrashed, and he watched each of those three tails whip back and forth. He wasn’t sure exactly what had his friend so agitated, but it was definitely beginning to get to him. He wasn’t used to seeing his friends, his Pokémon upset like that...and when they were that upset, he was, too. He couldn’t help but wonder if it was something he did or if there was something going on that he just couldn’t figure out...either way, it was his fault as the trainer, right?
When Zephyr calmed down again and was only snorting and looking angry as opposed to acting it, Kana moved closer again.
“Everything will be fine, yeah? Just let me find out what’s wrong...”
That was, apparently, the wrong answer. Kana found himself on the receiving end of a headbutt, and he fell backwards with a thud. Groaning, he slowly stood up, rubbing the back of his head. That wasn’t enough to deter him, though, not yet. He had never seen his friend like this, at least not since the time he first met him.
When he had first met Zephyr and his journey started, the Tauros had been angry all the time. He still showed signs of that when around other people, but when it was just him and Kana on the road, things were different. They were usually pretty laid-back together.
“If you don’t want me to find out, like, can you tell me? I’m not gonna hurt you.”
In response to that, Zephyr let out another cry and huffed. He lowered his head and dragged his hoof along the ground...just like he was about to...charge?!
“Just slow down! C-come on, I don’t even know what I did yet!”
It was going to be a long night, that much was certain.
