"He made what??" Sokka's screech was indignant enough to scare a flock of toucans from a nearby tree.

"Will you calm down! I think it's sweet. I mean, I still don't want to be married to him, but you should be happy that even though Alain doesn't know much about our world, he wanted to make me something that would be significant to me!"

Sokka just made a flurry of sputtering noises. Katara rolled her eyes.

"I'll take him out! I'll get my space sword and it will be even this time and he won't be able to cheat! And then I'll get the other one! YOU ARE NEVER GETTING MARRIED!"Excuse me? I think I'm in control of what happens to me, thanks." Katara started to stalk off. Then, several paces away, she heard a familiar put-upon voice. How he did it so quickly, or where he hid the hair, Katara didn't want to know ( ... )

Ned feels honestly guilty for being frustrated at Layfon. Over all, he knows he's a good kid with a good heart, he just wishes that Layfon realized he had more potential and also that he was a little more selfish. IT IS OKAY TO THINK OF YOURSELF IF SELF-PRESERVATION IS ON THE LINE, DUDE. But most of the time when he's lecturing, he doesn't really know what he's saying. WORDS ARE JUST COMING OUT.

I'm interested in Layfon's opinion on Ned!

Actually, he and Mary need to thread again so she can be GUILT-RIDDEN at him. But overall she likes him a lot! Yay, teenage heroes!!

Damian has a superiority complex over everything, so don't be surprised to find that he thinks Victor is not as cool as he is. So far, he hasn't been super impressed with what he knows, but he'd still come to Victor if they needed help with something HUUUUUUUUUGE (if he went to anyone) because a hero is a hero is a hero. He will still come talk to Victor and be a douchebag, but him talking at all means that he doesn't hate him. He just. fails at social interaction.

Katara still really likes Alain. He's calm and doesn't patronize her reactivity but also doesn't feed it (like, say, Cuthbert or Zuko do). She still feels like she doesn't really want to be in a relationship except for the days she does, and anyway, she knows that if she were to actually entertain the idea of anything more than friends with Alain, she'd be playing second fiddle. Katara does not want people to settle for her, no matter how sweet and well-intentioned they are. She wants attention and she wants all of it, by golly. So that's where the major issue comes: she can't compete with Cuthbert, and she knows it.

She trusts Alain as a true friend, though, and would likely come to him over almost anything, particularly if she feels like she can't tell her brother or Aang.
