I have shifted my happy, publicly consumable blogging to Facebook... but I still have depressed, un-public-worthy things to write. This unfortunately means that my LJ blog is going to degrade into a morass of self-deprecation. Nothing for it, I guess, that's just who I am ( Read more... )

I'm not willing to go that far. I'm annoyed not so much at the anger directed at me as at my seeming inability to do anything useful in response. And I don't see anger as hate, necessarily. Yes, there are some folks who just dive in whole-hog and let themselves hate, but there are still plenty who are angry but sufficiently aware of themselves to refrain from hatred.

And we haven't reached a local maximum on many of these issues. There are good people working towards good ends by effective means: but they don't get the air time they deserve, because crazed ranting makes for better television. I'm just not one of them, and never will be.
