I can def relate. I know my body feels so SO much better when I put whole grains, beans, vegetables, and fruit in it as opposed to packaged foods, sweets, alcohol, starbucks. That is not to say I won't buy Doritos sometimes or drink a beer or whatever. But I think that if your daily eating is good stuff, it is not a huge deal to have a donut once in a while or whatever.
I also think that with sweets, the more I have them the more I want them. It is def a battle of sorts, between what our minds THINK our bodies want, and what our bodies actually need.
I also remember when I had similar break-throughs (when I became a vegetarian, when I went vegan for a summer, and recently when I have attemped to eat less gluten.) It is great to listen to your body and feel healthy and better about it!
