Book List 1: The King in Yellow

Feb 04, 2007 00:03

I'm going to try to be more active this semester - I ought to have the time, since I'm not doing something as stressful as two writing-intensive courses with a zombie laptop & a Linux box that doesn't wanna talk to the print toaster, just a WI lab that's four bloody hours long - and this doesn't depend as much on my muse being a live person.  This ( Read more... )

Hi Ryo-san: I've been trying to catch you for online recently, but I keep missing you, so I thought I'd leave a comment here. This time I will remember to check back for your reply.

I'm gonna be asking you about ainself again, I'm afraid. The first is what are fees this year ($20 still?), and the 2nd is whether or not I should just send you a new check for last year? I was trying to balance my books and I kept coming up 20 dollars short, and then I realized that it was the check...so I assume you haven't found it?

Sorry to keep bugging you about this...

Sorry, have been going through hell. (I discovered this semester that, if I do opt to go for a masters, if I stick around I'll be finishing this semester with slightly over half the coursework for it done. Meanwhile, my group of seniors in the department has shrunk by 25%.)

Still $20, and yes, I'm afraid you probably should. I personally recommend timing it for the start of May, as that's when the semester ends and I'll actually have time for doing more than try to keep up with schoolwork and sleep. (Whomever thought we needed so many bloody writing-intensive courses needs to die. Painfully.)

Oh, then you should go for the master's, yes? If you have half the coursework completed already, it sounds like it'll take less time.

Will do. This time I will make all efforts not to be 4 or 5 months late.

I'm not sure -- one of the things I've discovered in the process is that I really lack interest in writing papers...particularly on topics I lack much interest in. (To top it off, properly, I ought to go elsewhere for a masters since I've developed a serious interest in a not-too-studied corner of biochemistry.)

Hi Ryo-san,

I see it's been a while since you've updated, so I hope you'll be able to see this. I've tried dropping you a line on AIM, but we seem to sign on at different times, unfortunately. This is just to let you know that I mailed the ainself payment for this year and last year (a total of $40) to you several weeks ago. I hope you've received it?

Oh look...the last comment was from me about the same issue.@_@ Time flies...

Hope things (such as the master's) are going well.

Yes, it will be taken to the bank as soon as I have the chance -- right now my time's getting occupied with morons in RL.

Ok, as long as it's arrived...

Good luck dealing with morons. If they're anything like the morons I know, you will need lots of it. :p
