Yes. Building is due to be torn down on 31 Jan so I imagine luxxy fittings will be at a minimum. According to an architect insider friend, it's going to become...wait for it...key worker housing and mixed-use office space (yawn).
I certainly will walk. The last time I attended one of these things it was in the timberyard next to Peckham Library. I left earlyish and, as luck would have it, a 37 shunted up. I jumped on and the next thing I knew I was in Putney, having fallen asleep in the less-than-five-minutes it took to get to my house. Disgruntled, I waited for and caught the next 37 going back and woke up...in Putney again. I'd done the entire loop. I made it home the next time around but by then I'd spent four and a half hours doing a ten minute walk.
It's alright - for one evening only Bellenden Rd (stop sniggering) will expand and take over the whole area.
I do see what you mean but events like this should help reduce that reputation (and the causes of reputation) so let's get pissed in the name of art and progress.
