My husband and I are debating as to whether or not he meant the series to go from 1 to infinity (and made a mistake) or how he got a bill for .2 cents.

Sums of the partial series are (1 - 1/2^n) for n terms.
So I don't see what's wrong with the infinite series part. :)

See I don't do this type of math regularly. 0_0 I thought that if the series when from 1 to infinity, it becomes 2. ?? lol

e^i*pi = cos pi + i sin pi = -1
1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 + ... = 1
Total sum = 0.002
So, 2 tenths of a cent?

Yeah, as I said above, I don't get if he got some ridiculous bill of .2 cents, or if he meant for that series to go from 1 to infinity.

There's a lot of dithering around the writing, so this is probably photoshopped. Still funny.
