Murakami depressed

I was strangely depressed after the Murakami lecture. It was very good as far as content (the short story he chose to read was the "Sharpie Cakes" story, which I wanted to read in the original--Sharpie makes me think of pens, but the original japanese actually means "sharp-edged baked thing"), but as far as cohesion and inspiration, I came away ( Read more... )

In so many words, I was also depressed after Murakami because I was by myself again and because I knew I could just never be as awesome as he is. :(

LOL, you never know. You could start a four hour writing regime in the mornings where you excavate your inner darkness. <=) And then go running.

Ummm, he was invited to teach Japanese Lit in CCS, but I don't think he was a regular part of the faculty. Do you remember Nathan-sensei?
