Summary: Pierre Bouvier lives a normal life as an 18 year old on his senior year in high school. He's captain of the hockey team and all the girls want him. But Pierre is harbouring a secret. He thinks nothing could be worse than people finding out the truth... Until he meets a boy who makes him think maybe his secret isn't worth keeping after all...
David
David ran just outside the door and fell back against the wall, letting his knees give away as he slid down the wall, arms crossed over his chest, crying. It's not that he believed Pierre would have sex with his sister... would he? No. He wouldn't. Would he? NO. He just didn't know what to think. Regardless of what she'd done, Rayenna was still his sister and it still made him sad and angry to think she could be pregnant at FOURTEEN. Especially if there was even a slight chance it could be his boyfriend's. He just couldn't stay in there. Too much was happening too fast and he needed a minute alone to stop and think it all out. Although, now that he thought of it, he would much rather think it all out with Pierre...
And as if summoned by his thoughts, the school door opened beside him, and he saw Pierre rush out, exhaling hard when he saw David sitting there. He rushed to the front of his boyfriend and got down on one knee. "David please... please, you have to believe me. I swear I didn't!" Pierre said desperately, on the verge of tears. David looked up into his boyfriend's sad eyes, and knew he was stupid for ever even considering the thought of Pierre doing something like that. H reached up and wrapped his arms around Pierre's neck, pulling him down to match their lips together. David could feel Pierre's smile and relief through the kiss, and flattened his legs out, pulling his older boyfriend into his lap. David felt Pierre sigh in content and wrapped his arms around him, as his head leaned against his chest. He never realized how good it felt just to hold Pierre.
Before either of them could think, the school door swung open. "Hey man have- oh." Chuck said, cutting himself off when he saw David and Pierre. Pierre leaped off of David and sat down beside him, red-faced. "No man, it's cool. Sorry, I'll just... uh..." Chuck pointed a thumb towards the door and turned to enter the school.
The second the door closed, Pierre and David both burst out laughing. Pierre took David's hand and stared into his happy eyes, smiling. "I love you..." He said cheerfully.
David smiled back with loving eyes. "I love you Pie." He said, leaning in to kiss his boyfriend.
Pierre
Pierre stood up abruptly, moved to the front of David, and held out his hands. David took them, letting Pierre pull him up. "Where are we going?" He asked.
"Home." Pierre said smiling. David really didn't think they should miss any more school, but he really didn't care. He took Pierre's hand, and they walked home together like that. Hand in hand. Perfection. Okay, not ENTIRE perfection. People honked, and yelled vulgarities out their car windows. One guy in a pickup truck threw a takeout cup full of soda at them. But they didn't care. They had each other, what more could the need?
They walked into the apartment and sat down on the couch, Pierre sitting normally, David lying across his lap, leaning his back on the arm of the couch. Pierre wrapped his arms around him casually and turned his head to look at him contentedly. "So... now what?" David placed a quick peck on Pierre's lips. "Now nothing." He said simply, resting his head on his boyfriend's shoulder. He didn't want to go out. He didn't want to eat. He didn't want to watch a movie. He just wanted to be with Pierre.
Pierre sighed. "I really hate to do this... but we should talk about everything that's been going on." He said. David lifted his head to lean casually on the couch again. "I know..." David said, looking at Pierre, clearly expecting him to start.
"Well, for one... I know what Sebastien said scared you, but next time anything like that happens, I need you to come to me so we can talk. You can't just run away like that. You scared me to death David. I don't know what I would do if I lost you." Pierre said, looking seriously into his eyes. He saw his boyfriend take a deep breath. "I know... really Pie, I know that now. I could never ever really leave you and I promise never to try again." David promised, looking at Pierre as if waiting for the next topic.
"Okay... and then there's more recent matters..." Pierre started, taking a deep breath. He didn't know if he was crossing some kind of line here, but he knew they needed to talk about it... "David, I swear to you I would NEVER do ANYTHING with ANYBODY else. Especially a girl. ESPECIALLY your sister. I don't want anyone but you. But... there is a chance that she might actually be pregnant... and well..." Pierre let his words trail off as David looked down and nodded his head slowly.
"I know..." He said. Pierre didn't know what to say.
"You know what Pierre? I don't care. I mean, yeah she's my sister and all, so I care a little, but I can't help but think that maybe this is just her karma. And she's already caused enough drama in my life. I'm done entertaining her childish games in her futile attempts to cause more and more shit. I mean, yeah I'm interested in how everything goes for her, but I'm still not gonna talk to her. Not gonna help or support her. She's basically dead to me. Can we just talk about something else?" He said. Pierre couldn't help but smile at his boyfriend's strength. He was so proud of him. He was completely content with the moment... until a knock came on the door. Pierre and David exchanged confused looks, before David climbed off of Pierre's lap and went to answer it, as Pierre watched closely to see who it was.
David opened the door, and Pierre practically jumped off the couch to get to his boyfriend's side as he saw her standing there.
Pierre didn't know what David would do. He really didn't. But he couldn't say he was surprised when David slammed the door in her face without saying a word. He was even less surprised when she stopped it with her hand, walked in, and closed the door behind her.
"Who the fuck do you think you are?! Get the fuck out of our apartment before I call the cops. Or worse, your mommy and daddy to tell them their kid's knocked up and hanging out with fags." David said cruelly. It surprised Pierre the venom he heard in his boyfriend's words. Not that he could blame him.
A tear ran down Rayenna's cheek.
"Please... let me stay. Just for two minutes, then I promise I'll leave." She pleaded.
David watched her closely. "Two. Minutes." He said firmly.
"Okay... um, first, I want to apologize." She started, looking down. She didn't dare look either of them in the eye. "I shouldn't have said Pierre got me... well that we... that he... well... I shouldn't have included him in this mess at all. I just didn't know what to do, and I thought that day I saw him, he was running around crying, he looked hysterical. I guess a small part of me was being stupid and thought maybe he was SO hysterical he couldn't remember parts of that day... and that if I said we did that... and I was pregnant..." She let her words trail off, looking to the side of the room, keeping her eyes as far from them as possible.
"You thought he'd break up with me for you?" David said, the anger he was holding back ringing clear through his voice. Anger flamed through Pierre, and that was all he could take. He took a step forward.
"Okay, listen. I've been nothing but nice and polite to you for no reason besides you're David's sister. But enough is enough. You know what? There ARE parts of yesterday that I don't remember at all. Why? Because I was so frantic looking for my boyfriend. MY BOYFRIEND. YOUR BROTHER. But I would NEVER be THAT frantic. NEVER. I would remember that. TRUST ME. And that's NOT a compliment. I don't want you. I will never want you. I'm fucking gay and completely in love with David, and even if I wasn't, I would NEVER. EVER. Go out with such a self centred, manipulative, BITCH. Now get the fuck out of my apartment." Pierre said clenching his teeth and giving her an angry, terrifying look. Tears welled up in the fourteen year old's eyes. She nodded her head slowly, obviously knowing she deserved every word Pierre had spat at her, and so much more.
"Well then I guess there isn't anything left to say..." She started, finally meeting their eyes. She looked between the two of them. "But in case either of you were wondering who the baby's father is... it's Jeff Stinco." She said simply, before turning around and walking out of the apartment, leaving David and Pierre completely stunned in what they'd just heard.
Did she actually just say that? Jeff Stinco? As in the eighteen year old goalie for Pierre's hockey team, Jeff Stinco? Pierre and David looked at each other slowly. Pierre knew what was coming sooner or later, so he figured he'd get it over with. He exchanged a look with David, nodded, and took out his phone, finding Jeff's number.
When the second knock came at the door, Pierre answered it, knowing Jeff better than David. He lead him in and let him sit in the chair as he sat next to David on the couch. Jeff was acting the same as he always did. Lots of smiles, friendly, happy. Why?
"Hey man, whatsup?" He said cheerfully, leaning forward on his arms.
"Um... we wanted to talk to you about something." Pierre said, glancing quickly at David to make sure he was okay, then back to Jeff.
"Oh, hey if this is about you know... you two... I already know everything, and I think it's cool you aren't afraid to stand up for who you are." Jeff said, smiling supportively. Pierre couldn't help but feel happy hearing that. His heart really did get warmer, knowing he had friends out the who supported him for who he was. Really, he wasn't angry that Jeff had sex with Rayenna, or that she was now pregnant. He was more mad at her for having sex with Jeff and getting knocked up by him. He was scared for his friend. He knew how Rayenna could be, and he didn't want Jeff getting caught in the cross fire of her twisted games.
Pierre smiled warmly. "Thanks man... that means alot. Really. But we actually wanted to talk to you about... Rayenna." He said cautiously.
Jeff's smile faded into guilt, and he turned his attention to David. "Oh... look dude, I'm sorry... I know she's your sister, and if you don't feel comfortable with me being involved with her..." He started, being cut off by David's laughter.
"Jeff... this isn't about me being protective of my sister. It's just... I don't think she told you... but, she's pregnant. And she says it's yours. Now again, I don't really care what happens to her, but if it's true... then you're gonna need to be associated with her for probably the rest of your life... and I just want you be careful. She's not who she appears to be. She's manipulative, and selfish, and she'll stop at nothing to get what she wants." David said, softly, but firmly, trying to cushion the blow, but get the message through at the same time. Jeff didn't say a word. He had no expression. He just sat there with his mouth open, shocked.
"I... but... how do you know she's pregnant?" He asked, eyes scared.
"She told us..." David said. Jeff's expression suddenly registered knew understanding and tears weren't far off.
"What you said about her not being what she appears... I know. I just didn't want to believe it. But I know now what she was planning. Guys you have to be careful, I think she wants to tell people-"
"It's Pierre's?" David cut Jeff off. "Yeah, we know. She tried, we stopped it. It's you that has to be careful now, okay?" David said, gaily acting like a mother towards this 18 year old hockey player he'd never met. Jeff nodded slowly.
"Yeah... I guess... I think I'm just gonna put this to the back of my mind, and enjoy the time I have until she tells me herself." He said, obviously confident with his decision.
"That's a good idea..." Pierre said, never having felt so bad for his usually cheerful friend, who now looked sort of lost, and broken.
"Yeah... um, so can I hang out here with you guys for awhile?" Jeff asked, trying to change the mood. Pierre and David smiled and Pierre laughed lightly, going along with it.
"Yeah man." He said.
The three of them hung out for the rest of the day. The mood slowly lightened until Rayenna was far gone out of mind, and they were just three friends hanging out. For once, Pierre felt like he and David had actually beat Ray at something. When Jeff finally went home and it was just him and his boyfriend again, they were both exhausted. But David looked more happy and peaceful than Pierre had seen him in weeks. They were sitting on opposite ends of the couch, both sitting in the same position, sunk down into the cushions, their heads flopped back resting on the back of the couch. Pierre turned his head to look at David, keeping it on the back of the couch, and David did the same. Pierre smiled, and David smiled back. The simplicity of it all was really overwhelming. When they'd met, it was like someone hit fast forward on their lives and they never really got a moment just to think about everything that had happened and enjoy each other. Pierre flipped his head, motioning for David to come closer. David smiled wider, and climbed into his boyfriend's lap. He curled up and sighed in content as Pierre wrapped his arms around him. Pierre felt his heart swell as he leaned his head against his own shoulder so he could look at his boyfriend, who's head was warm against his chest.
David
David snuggled into his boyfriend, and began thinking out loud. "You know Pie... I don't understand what people see is wrong with us..." He started, keeping his head on Pierre's chest and looking straight ahead into space as he felt his boyfriend's head adjust itself to look at him curiously. "Like... I remember this one time... actually, I think this is why I stayed in the closet so long... but I was at home and Emaa really wanted to watch the new episode of this show, Glee. It was the only episode I'd seen because I didn't have much else to do, but there were a few couples in the show..." David said, never once even attempting to meet Pierre's eyes. Pierre was silent, letting his boyfriend continue on with his story. "There was a gay couple, Kurt and Blaine, a straight couple, Rachel and Finn, and a Lesbian couple, Brittany and Santana. Brittany was only bi, but that's beside the point... my mom spent the whole hour making jokes about Kurt and Blaine. Then, when Santana and Brittany kissed... well.. her exact words, were "ew, do they have to show that on television?!" and she looked disgusted. Then not even a minute later, Rachel and Finn kissed, and she said AWE. FUCKING AWE. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?!" He asked intensely, finally meeting Pierre's eyes. "Why can't we just love each other like straight people are allowed to? What sets us apart?! SO WE BOTH HAVE DICKS, BIG DEAL! IT'S JUST NOT FUCKING FAIR." David ranted. He continued ranting letting out words worse than he'd ever spoken, letting out all of his anger towards the subject, and Pierre just let him vent like the perfect boyfriend he was. When he finally finished his rant and let out a fast deep breath, he looked at Pierre. Pierre just smiled down and kissed him lovingly. And suddenly, nothing mattered anymore...
As the kiss broke, Pierre pulled a very confused David off his lap and began to stand, making no effort to involve his boyfriend in what he was doing.
"Um, where are you-" David started. His boyfriend smiled.
"Just wait here." He said. David waited, curious, for three minutes before Pierre came back in from the kitchen holding two wine glasses filled with some kind of alcohol, and handed one to him before sitting down beside him.
"I'm underaged you know Pierre. How do I know you're not taking advantage of me?" He said, smiling playfully. Pierre laughed, looking at him with adoring eyes.
"Here's to us..." Pierre said, as they clinked their glasses together, took a sip, and cuddled back together, David leaning into Pierre, who's arm wrapped around the smaller body. This is how they fell asleep.
The sun woke him as he was lying on top of Pierre on the couch, cuddled into his arms. Didn't they have school today? Shit... once again, the alarm clock couldn't be heard from the living room. David jumped up and started shaking Pierre, who's lazy eyes drooped open.
"Pierre, baby, we're late for school." David urged him. Pierre rubbed his tired eyes, and propped himself up on one elbow. He smiled into his boyfriend's panic. David's eyes remained worried but he couldn't help but smile at how cute Pierre was. How did he get so lucky? "Seriously Pie, we have to go..." David said. He was really trying to convince his heart, which just wanted to cuddle back up to Pierre and forget the world. But he knew he couldn't. He knew he needed school if he ever wanted to get to Portland. That's when his thoughts froze. Portland. Before he met Pierre, his dreams were the one thing that had kept him hanging on. What would happen after Pierre or David or both graduated? David didn't want to give up on his dreams, but would they mean losing Pierre? He couldn't think of that right now...
David had eventually dragged Pierre off the couch and got to school just in time for math class. He knew he should be thinking of the problems on the sheet in front of him, but he had his own problem he just couldn't keep his mind off of. His relationship with Pierre was so perfect that it never occurred to him that the future might come along and fuck it all up. He knew what he wanted. Since he was nine years old and bought his first bass, he knew he wanted to move to Portland, find a band, and be a bass player. Portland was where he belonged. It was the one place where everyone loved music as much as he did. Where practically everyone you meet is in a band. Not some boy band or pop artist like Justin Bieber or One Direction. Real bands. But what if Pierre didn't want to go to Portland? He would have to choose between his boyfriend and his dreams... how could he do that? He just wanted to leave and go off somewhere to clear his head. Unfortunately, that wasn't exactly an option due to how much he and Pierre had been running out of school lately. He just had to push the whole thought to the back of his mind for now. He put all of his energy into focusing on his work and was relieved when the bell rand. Lunch time.
Pierre
Pierre looked around until he saw what he was looking for. He smiled and wrapped his arms around David, who had been walking towards him. He placed a gentle kiss on his lips and smiled down at him. "Wanna get some lunch?" He asked. David smiled and nodded. Pierre took his boyfriend's hand, loving that he could do that wherever he wanted, and they walked down the stairs, coming to the door of the cad. Pierre looked at David, intending to ask him if he was okay, or ready to go back in there, but David just nodded before he could even ask the question. So he took a deep breath and entered the sea of judgmental high school students... holding his boyfriend's hand. As soon as they entered, the room fell quiet and everyone in it turned to look at them. They walked awkwardly to the line to get their lunch, pretending they didn't notice even though you could have cut the tension in the room with a plastic butter knide. They got their food and started towards an empty table at the back of the room. Things were okay... until Pierre felt something wet, that smelles like meat, hit the side of his face. "FAGS!" Yelled... none other than Sebastien Lefebvre. Pierre turned his head to see Seb high fiving and laughing with the rest of the hockey team he knew he would no longer be playing with. The anger rose in him and there was nothing he could do to stop it. He dropped his tray straight to the ground and ran for Seb, ripping him out of his chair by the collar. He waited until Seb was done stumbling and was standing firmly in fron of him, then nailed him straight between the eyes, as hard as his fist would allow him. When Sebastien recovered enough to realize what was going on, he threw a weak punch at Pierre who caught it with his own hand.
Sebastien
Seb knew there was no way he was winning this. Pierre was strong. Alot stronger than him. For a second, he wondered how he even ended up here. How did they go from having sand fights in the sanbox and laughing in Pierre's backyard... to hating each other? To him having to wipe the blood off his nose from his BEST friend. What was he thinking? A tear rolled down his cheek. "Man... I'm sorry. It was just a joke. I shouldn't have said anything." Seb pleaded. He saw anger rise in Pierre's eyes and it tore him to pieces. What had he become? Pierre grabbed the collar of his shirt roughly and he didn't fight back. he deserved whatever Pierre was going to do to him. "Fucking right you shouldn't have said anything. You can say whatever you want to me... but you do NOT talk to my boyfriend like that. EVER. Now get the fuck out of my face before I show you why." Pierre ranted, giving Seb a stern, angry look. Seb nodded his head slowly, then looked around Pierre's body. "I'm really sorry David..." He said, and walked out of the cafeteria before he could respond.
Pierre
Pierre was still in shock about what had just happened while he watched his ex best friend walk away. What he didn't expect was that as soon as Seb was gone, the entire room erupted in applause, and alot of students stood up. Before he knew it, both of David's arms were wrapped around his waist and his head resting on his shoulder. On the other side, someone wrapped their arm around Pierre's shoulder. "Come sit with us guys." Chuckk said, leading David and Pierre towards a table where they sat with him, and the few members of the hockey team that hadn't joined Seb in his bashing of the gays, including Jeff.
Pierre was a little confused. For a minute, he thought that when he looked in Sebastien's eyes, he saw something almost like... guilt. Pierre shook the thought from his head. Yes, there was a small part of him that wished he and Seb could go back to the way things were, and a big part that missed all of the times they had together.... but deep down, he knew Seb wasn't who he thought he was. He could spend the rest of his life missing him and it still wouldn't change the fact that he was only apologizing so Pierre wouldn't break his face. He had to move forward and forget about the past. He looked beside him at David, who was laughing and talking to the other guys about god knows what. Pierre smile. The feeling he got watching David finally make some friends was indescribable, and that was something Sebastien could never take away from him. For now, everything was good...
