Between the two, with no other information given, who would win in a fight? Astronauts or cavemen?

Cavemen. Their primal instincts would over-rule the practiality of an astronaut.

Exactly. While the astronaut was busy trying to be all smart about it, the caveman would just club him to death.

Totally a caveman. Their inability to understand the sophisticated technology would deem them impervious to it. Yes.

i'm sorry, but you all are on crack. assuming that each type of person had weapons that suited their times, the astronauts would win. the cavemen would be charging with clubs while the astronauts shot them with something from a safe distance. the only way this would not work is if the confrontation was unplanned, or planned poorly ( ... )

I've heard this question posed many times, and it has always bothered me. Astronauts are modern men of science, they are analytical and mathematical. Cavemen are survivalists, they have but one instinct, to survive. So, if these two parties were placed in a room sans any tools or technology, just mano-a-mano, of course the cavemen would win. They are physically stronger and more rugged. Most importantly, they are all hunters, and astronauts are very much not. Such a confrontation is akin to a computer programmer versus a barroom brawler, and the outcome is quite obvious. The very nature of the question is problematic because you are pitting non-fighters against fighters in a fight ( ... )
