I have a ton of records too and no player. Of course I'm not technically a library, but they are sitting in a box in the way, if that counts.
It's so odd they got hauled to the 4th floor. Maybe you have an eccentric who has managed to bring them in, one by one in his mega-backpack and then set them up on the 4th floor as an art installment. that's pretty possible.

There's actually a market for vinyl, I think. Someone is out a cool 10 cents per record, or whatever the reimbursement from a used-vinyl-records store. And there is definitely a market for phonograph record-PLAYERS, since so many people still have the old format. I am thinking that the record industry is behind the fact that it has been so hard to get ahold of a phonograph player. They wanted you to have to re-buy all of your albums as CDs'. Screw 'em. I hope downloads put them all under.
