Antoinette Perry-ness.

I finally finished watching them today during a... brunch.
all right... hm..
i'd give the night a 6 out of 10.
that's rather sucky.
i mean... it was.. okay.
the musical performances were okay.
i would not have picked that # for Piazza
Spelling Bee was pretty nice.
Spamalot was a little funny but not... compelling.
it was cute. but... eh.
Sweet Charity wasn't bad. but that musical is so obscure anyway.
i mean, to paraphrase someone else, when were there ever pay-for-a-dance places in NYC in the 60s anyway?
Christina Applegate doesn't strike me as bway material.

some of the winners were blah.
i wasn't excited for them.
Victoria Clark rocked and i cried.
I cried a little for Norby too.
Oh and i don't remember his name at the moment but the guy from Virginia Woolf too.
I loved that they showed kathleen turner. she looked so... i mean you could tell she loves him.

There was WAY too little of Bernadette and Idina.
There should have been a lot more.
There was also WAY too MUCH Billy Crystal.
wtf- the cell phone thing?
The intro was boring... i wanted more Bernadette.

Honestly, although I love David Hyde Pierce and others and "You can't succeed on Broadway",
I don't think Spamalot should have won.
After listening to it, and letting it sink in,
I really think The Light in the Piazza should have.
it's so... *sigh* it's deep and stirring and fantastic.

I swear, no more Hugh Jackman.
he was hot in the tight gold pants last year, but i've had enough of him.
please? 3 years is enough.
i could go for some Idina and Taye, Bernadette, Harvey, Shosh!, anyone.

[i want the old tapes]
