she was gone again. So gone that he couldn’t imagine how she’d get back to them this time.

You made me cry. I hate you.

The memories he kept were tense and tangled, knotted threads pulled taut. Logan hoped his stolen memories were sweeter, if only because he liked to think that he’d seen better times, once upon a time.

Is that a 16th century metaphor?

Seriously, this is terrific. And it made me cry. I guess I already said that. Plus, I hadn't heard that song before, and it was pretty awesome --

OMG, it IS a 16th century metaphor! HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO DECIPHER ITS DENSELY HIDDEN MEANING!?

Isn't that song good? I have the album version, too, if you want it. I like that one better, though.

And writing it almost made ME cry. WHEN DID I GET INTO LOGAN/JEAN!?

This is wonderful (and sad). Something that I find very sad about Logan is the way he seems to stand still while the world changes around him. You've really caught that static feeling, and the pain that it causes.

I really love the concept of, in Marvel canon, time not existing. So, all of these characters move seamlessly from era to era, changing without getting any older--except for Logan who ages without really changing. It's such a cool, tragic dichotomy.

Thank you so much for the comment!

Thank you! The concepts of time and immortality are such weird, freaky, scary things, especially in Marvel canon.

Here via crack_van and so glad I came by. This was really gorgeous and the prayer like aspect of it was kind chilling.

As it was, so it shall be.

From now until the end of the world.

I can hear the silent Amen at the end of this. Really nice job!
