Picked up Paul Kidd's latest offering,"D20 to Yuma" (a spoof on "3.10 to Yuma"). It's inspired from when his gaming group picked up "Boot Hill" waaaay back in the 70s but were busy playing "D&D". The Wife is at an away day for her work, I have the house to myself for a bit. Done the washing up, hoovered, got one load of washing done and drying and got the second in the machine. My finger is still improving. It'll take until the end of the month for near-full operation to be regained, it's still sore in places and there is a definite kink in it now, but every day or so I notice an improvement ( Read more... ) -

One thing I picked up recently via RPGNow/DrivethruRPG was a game called Wild Skies- Europa Tempest. It's a dieselpunk 1930's game where the Great War never really ended, just broke down into a series of regional skirmishes while former soldiers turn mercenary in order to make ends meet. Been enjoying looking through the "Tales from the Loop" RPG, very high quality product, art and writing both. Very nostalgic, had 80s music on my little MP3 player most of the last week. One book I've asked my brother to retrieve from Mother's house in Swansea is a colour encyclopedia of technology from around 1983. It's got mention of portable ( Read more... ) -

The Wife and I had a quiet one, a very nice meal at The Chutney, our local Indian (I am really starting to like paneer, the Indian cooking cheese) then an evening cuddled up on the sofa watching "Wallace and Grommit- Curse of the Were-Rabbit", something of a tradition for us, alas for Peter Sallis, who died earlier in 2017. A far older tradition then christianity and one I approve of. I bought our (artificial) one ten years ago and with it a generic box of gold ornaments. As the years have gone on we have supplemented these, a few at a time, every year, with some some more unique and individual ones (including a bunch of 6 Studio Ghibli keyrings I won for a cosplay ( Read more... ) -

There was a made for TV film (possibly a series) I saw a decade or so ago (possibly longer). Very "Edge of Darkness" style techno thriller, that ends with an artificial black hole, originally created for clean energy, now taking more and more energy to contain it and the Government desperately trying to cover it up ( Read more... ) -
