Glancing down at his plane ticket, Jin confirmed that he was in front of the right gate before setting down his carry-on and taking a seat. Yawning, he took out his iPod and headphones, placing the ear buds into his ears as he relaxed into the chair, closing his eyes tiredly.
It was 6:00 in the morning and instead of laying in bed, sleeping peacefully before group practice, Jin was at the airport, waiting for his flight to Los Angeles so he could begin preparing for his solo concerts. To say he was nervous would be an understatement, but the empty fluttering in his stomach could also be credited towards intense excitement. This was truly the opportunity of a lifetime, something he had been dreaming of ever since he left Los Angeles and although it meant leaving his group and not being able to participate in their big Asia tour, he just couldn’t pass it up, not without regretting it for the rest of his life.
Feeling a gentle tap on his knee, Jin cracked open an eye, smiling lazily when he saw who it was. “Hey,” he greeted his friend, sitting up straighter in his chair and taking out his ear buds, “What’s up?”
“Not much,” Koki shrugged, his hands stuffed in his front pockets, “You?” he asked.
Jin raised an eyebrow at the awkward, nonchalant attitude, “Oh you know, just going to America.”
“Yeah, about that,” Koki cleared his throat, rolling onto the balls of his feet, “You’ve known me for awhile now, and I’m not always good at expressing my emotional feelings-”
“No shit, you’re almost as bad as Ueda,” Jin interrupted, chuckling.
Koki stopped rocking, glaring down at Jin angrily, “Shut up!” he shouted, attracting a few stares, “I should be glad your fatass is leaving but now I’m just annoyed because I know I’m going to miss you.” he finished, saying the last part quietly, eyes directed towards the floor.
“I knew it!” Jin grinned, watching Koki blush in amusement, “You do care about me.”
“Idiot,” Koki mumbled, his out-of-character blush darkening, “Good luck Bakanishi.” he nodded towards his friend, before quickly shuffling away, hands still in his pockets.
Jin watched Koki’s retreating back, smiling fondly even as the shorter male disappeared around the corner. Sighing contently, he placed the ear buds back into his ears and closed his eyes, leaning back into the chair as he waited patiently for his flight to arrive, a little less nervous and a lot more excited to show Los Angeles what he’s got.
