And if you ever forget how much you really mean to me.
Everyday I will, remind you.

rorychan Walking through the thin forest, Hikaru carefully stepped over the protruding tree root, his eyes on the ground. He had already tripped over a few today, and his toes were absolutely killing him now.
“You okay?” Yabu asked, and when Hikaru looked up, his foot connected with another root, sending a sharp pain up his foot. Hissing, Hikaru lifted his foot off the ground and pouted, leaning against the closet tree for support.
“This sucks,” Hikaru whined, his expression completely pitiful, “My toes are getting mauled by these tree roots!”
Yabu began to laugh, causing Hikaru to turn towards him with a glare. His expression softened though when Yabu came over and grabbed his hand, lacing their fingers together. Putting his foot back on the ground, Hikaru limped along beside Yabu, a smile slowly forming on his face.
“Careful, root,” Yabu quickly informed him and Hikaru stepped over it, saving his poor toes another beating him. Feeling the need to thank his friend, Hikaru opened his mouth, but it fell shut when Yabu jerked on his hand, saving him once again.
“Don’t worry, I’ve got you,” Yabu grinned, giving his hand a squeeze, and Hikaru nodded, giving it a squeeze back.

nahc_ier Standing beside Yabu with the fire extinguisher, Hikaru sprayed the fiery countertop before setting it down, breathing heavily. Taking a moment to catch his breath, Hikaru turned towards Yabu and raised a brow, silently asking the older boy what the fuck?
“It’s your birthday,” Yabu sheepishly replied, looking at his burnt cake in dismay, “And I wanted to do something special for you, you know, cause it’s your birthday,” Yabu cleared his throat, wiping his ashy hands on his apron, “And from my understanding, boyfriends generally do special things for each other on their birthday.”
“This is true,” Hikaru replied, grinning at how cute and uncharacteristically awkward Yabu was being, “But specials things don’t have to be homemade, especially when you can’t bake worth shit,” Hikaru leaned over and wrapped an arm around Yabu’s waist, bringing the sullen male into his arms, “How about we go out to eat, and later you can give me a gift I know we’ll both enjoy.”
Yabu chuckled, giving Hikaru a playful swat on the back, “Sure, just let me go change really quick,” Yabu began to run off, but paused, turning back towards Hikaru with a smile. Without a word, he leaned over and kissed the younger boy, bringing a dirty hand to his cheek.
“Happy Birthday Hikka.”
Hikaru blushed at the old nickname, and pulled Yabu further into his arms, “Thanks Yabucchi.”
