Mormon Wedding...

So, on Saturday  I attended the wedding of my best friends brother, who is like my second brother. Recently (year and a half or so) he became Mormon. not a big deal to me. religion for me isn't a hot topic. I have my (Christian) faith and you have whatever you believe. the Bishop kept saying during the vow exchange "this is not the real marriage. I cannot marry them."

I think that speaks more to the officiant (and possibly the congregation their a part of) than the religion over all, but I'm speaking as an outsider. A proper officiant, to my mind, wouldn't keep reminding the guests that they were outsiders and conduct the ceremony in such away that the 'insiders only' portions were conducted before or after the guests/outsides had arrived/were gone. That's my two cents.

I've known plenty of Mormons but I can't help with that query. Holler if you ever figure it out?
