In the interest of total transparency, this is the first Thompson I've read, so perhaps I'm just being guarded. It missed the A because I really hoped he'd do more with the book-- I liked what was there, but there should have been even more.

I don't know, I still like Sookie because I like female protagonists (for the most part). And it's important to have at least one fairly balanced character in the middle of all the craziness. But UGH I get it, Tara is sooooooo vulnerable & damaged etc. etc. etc. eeeeeeenough.
