Well, today was the first day volunteering at the Red Cross. I was an 1/2 late. GAH! In the end, however, that didn't matter. The phone lines are apparently slower first thing in the morning and everyone was just sitting around

It's quite an admirable thing you are doing. The numbers of people I see on the news are astonishing, an obviously overwhelming to all the organizations that are trying to help. I can't put the blame on the government for the slow reaction time. Now isn't the time to pass blame on to anyone. Right now the thing to do is to just start helping. After all is said an done, then work to improve. However as you so brilliantly researched the city of New Orleans, it was just a time bomb waiting to go off. You are doing a kind and selfless act by doing what you can to help. I do admire you for that.
