I spend a lot of time creating my own set of laws about the world. It's in lieu of organised religion. People without organised religion still need organisation to make sense of the world, but for me that organisation tends to come in observable instances that trigger an "oh yeah!"

My heart started breaking for you. I had the same thing happen to me. I just went home. I felt defeated and it sucked for a while, but I felt much better.

oh FUCK aletta! (Can I just say that you're a fantastic writer? You really had me coming along with you on that deserted road).

I totally identify with the first part. And I have to say, sometimes I still feel bad about "the weakness" even when we are in the same place.

But the second part.. crap. I wish there was something I could do for you. I can give you every phone number of every fun person I know in Europe if you like? But I know it probably won't help. I guess.. I hope it starts to get easier as soon as possible.

i'm sorry Aletta...if it's any consolation, i really think that you're talented enough that you will somehow someway get something good out of this whole episode, be it creatively, spiritually...and whatever else bohemian "...ally" nitwitticisms (is that a word?) i could think of.

Homesickness is awful! People don't tell people that when they get home. they forget about it by then, and the holiday becomes fabulous!

If you want to come home earlier, feel free. I like it here, but it is your place. Just give me enough time to find somewhere else.
