So, while following the nos's wanking, the annoying little elf in my head keeps chanting something about Piers Anthony and Xanth.

Isn't there some really bad pun--I think it's in the novel Night Mare--about faux pas? Something about a tripping giant named Faux creating a pass in the mountains

I think you're right about the Piers Anthony pun, but it's been years since I've read any Xanth novels. Must go and look and see if we still have Night Mare.

Someone has to put "once more we reach a faux pas" into icon. It's screaming for animated treatment.

I know that I have the book, but due to a move earlier this year, it's in a box. And there are about twenty-five boxes of books . . . any one of which could contain our fantasy novels.

Someday, there will be shelves in the library.

It took me two years to unpack all of the books we have. But all of our paperbacks are on one three tiered bookself, stacked three deep. I need to get another bookself, sigh.

I won't even describe the comic book collection. I have to get three new long boxes.

But so far, the quick peek at the books doesn't show our Xanth books.

At the old house, the shelves in the living room had books stacked three deep, and the rest of the books were on cheap shelves someone had once upon a time put in the stairway to the basement. (For storing video tapes, I'd guess).

We have a room we designated a library here. The male half was talking about building nice built-in bookcases (the father-in-law is a carpenter). But the guts of various computers are scattered across the floor of the "library" now, and their carcasses are stacked up around the room. I think it has become the computer geek room instead.
