Nicholas J. Lebresco Sr., 89, of Malvern, died Sunday December 5, 2004.
He was the husband of the late Mildred Rebuth Lebresco.
Born July 16, 1915, In Lynn, Mass., he was the son of the late Dominic and Marie Lebresco.
He had worked for Acme Markets, retiring after 33 years of service.
As an Army P.F.C., Nick was attached to the 21st Tank Battalion Medical Detachment of the 10th Armored Division.
He was overseas for 13 months, serving as a surgical technician.
Nick wears the Combat Medical Badge; The Pre-Pearl Harbor Ribbon; The Good Conduct Medal; The ETO Ribbon with three battle stars; The Purple Heart for wounds recieved in action no Easter Sunday; and the Bronze Star for heroism.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Church of Malvern and the Upper Main Line V.F.W. Post No. 5203, Paoli; and a life-time member of both the West Chester and Kennett Square Italian Social Clubs.
In the 1970's, he was active with the Great Valley High School Gridiron Booster Club.
He is survived by a son, Nicholas J. Lebresco JR. and his wife, Patricia of West Chester; three brothers, Joseph of Malvern, Sidney of Devon, and Tony of Paoli; and three grandsons, Christopher, Mark and Philip.
When I read that, I cant help but smile.
