For those who read the plastics article, thanks. The response was underwhelming, but I hope you are more aware of your plastic use at the least. My replies to some of the comments, no, this isn't a new topic but I think we tend to forget some of these big issues when a new big issue comes up and consumes the general media (global warming being

I knew what you meant in your comments, and I didn't mean to give the impression that I didn't care before or didn't do anything about recycling or other eco-friendly means of making a household. I just mean I could do more, a lot more.
I don't think we can just overhaul and change everything at once, so as for yogurt and other things it will be a phasing into something better. If I can make yogurt at a reasonable or cheaper cost, great. It's something I need to research and even check freecycle for yogurt making equipment first. So, one step at a time. One garage sale and freecycle check at a time for glass containers and other things to continue the change.

i realize how much work we have to do to live a greener life... but we are so blessed to live in an area where we can recycle most of our waste. A family of 4 with many critters, we usually fill up and some a 96 gallon recycling container and a 96 gallon yard/food waste container every 2 weeks... but we only put one garbage bag in our garbage can. If this keeps up, i think we may be able to down-shift to the mini-can.
But i throw away too much... i waste too much. i am particularly bad with food waste. And that saddens me - it is something i need to change NOW.
i also need to sleep. Gods i hope the kids don't burn down the house, but i need a nap. :) So, if what i just wrote makes no sense... i am sorry. My brain literally JUST NOW turned to mush.
