That is amazing and magical. XD I so want to get my hands on it and bring out my mosaic supplies. And wow, that crazy sweet place needs some practical help. The deck tree amazes me. I keep squinting at these going "Is that even possible?" I think you should replace the mural with another mural. XD And the deck supports should be neat looking, like trees, or pillars, or something.
The deck is actually really sturdy, one of the best built things of the house, but the rails would need to be sturdier for our kids' sake so they wouldn't fall, they'd actually need to be attached to something!
The blaze orange entrance way really is brighter than the photo implies, there just wasn't enough light in there and I didn't want to use the flash and blind myself.
What scares me in the second to last photo is Dad V.O. and Debbie standing under the back of the house, how it looms above them with the hill sloping down, threatening to take them down. We'd get that all supported, but yikes! I wasn't expecting that in the back.
I wished there were a claw foot tub in there (miraculously in perfect shape), and what I don't have photos of are the bedrooms. You can see the front windows from the outside, not bad, but I wish they were a bit more with character of the older house. The back bedroom on the upper floor has funky window(s) facing the back, can't remember how many, they are higher up and more like half windows. I think there is a full window on the side of house on that back bedroom upstairs. The back bedroom on the first floor (that addition that hangs precariously off the hill) looks like it had bookshelves nailed to the back wall which is our guess why they didn't put in a nice window where there SHOULD be a huge picture window.
The one draw back, esp. for Martin, is that the additions are all a bit disjointed, and for his organized brain that loves the Victorians and Craftsman houses for all the symmetry, right angles and good floor plan lay out....this place would always bit just a bit off.
Aw, thanks. Just showing some family and friends who aren't on LJ this crazy house we put an offer on. Other than that, life as usual, years kind of fly by, I have a few more kids and moved around a bit. Hope you are well.
